Stop #5 Presented by Brandon Belt Fishing

Texas East headed to the south end of Sam Rayburn to kick off event #5 with a meeting at Hilcrest Baptist Church in Jasper Texas.  This venue has special meaning to “The Texas Division” of Fishers of men as it was the very first host in Texas 25 years ago.  The church was located in the main part of town at the time but has since moved out to a beautiful spot with multiple acres and facilities that are unbelievable.  We put on the feed bag for 300 of our anglers, friends and families, with fried chicken, baked beans, potato salad and cake to top it off.  Larry Daigle, Pastor, Mims Baptist Church, brought the message and the spirit moved in a big way as we saw 9 people surrender their lives to Christ and 11 rededicate their walk with the Lord. 

Saturday morning we were set up early at Cassels Boykin Pavilion with clear skies and a slight breeze so that we could weigh the teams that brought big bass to the scales for the hourly payout.  At the end of the day it was the team of Len Adcock and Ryan McWilliams that brought a sack weighing 19.03 that took home the final $10,000.00 top money.  They were followed by Anthony Waguspack and Cordaryl Rawls with a bag tipping the scales with a weight of 16.07.  Rounding out the top three were the long time Texas East team of Billy Waldrep and Justin Sowell with a stringer weighing 15.53.

We had a very successful season with lots of decisions made for the Lord.  We got to enjoy some sweet fellowship and were on mission as we impacted our fishing communities by engaging in ministry with The Family Crisis Center of East Texas and also our support of the Fathers Heart orphanage.
