???? TOURNAMENT RECAP: FISHERS OF MEN – FLORIDA CENTRAL DIVISION ????

What a weekend on the water—and even more importantly, in the presence of the Lord!

Friday night set the tone in a powerful way as we gathered with our new ministry partners at First Baptist Church of Lake Monroe. Pastor Marcus and his wife Lisa welcomed us with true servant hearts, creating an atmosphere of fellowship from the moment anglers walked through the doors. Bridget’s Classic Catering blessed everyone with a hearty meal of lasagna and salad—just the fuel needed for tournament day ahead! Brother Brad Winnings then delivered a timely and encouraging message, reminding us to trust God through every step of the journey and to have faith in His plan.

With hearts full and spirits lifted, anglers turned in for the night, ready for battle.

Saturday morning broke with cool 68-degree air over the waters of the St. Johns River at Lake Monroe Park. Conditions shifted throughout the day—from overcast skies to that classic Florida “bluebird” sunshine—but anticipation stayed high. After a prayer from our Chaplain and a quick rules review, 17 teams launched out in pursuit of God’s creation… the elusive bass.

Only one question remained: Who would be crowned champion?

At 3PM, the scales told the story.

?? CHAMPIONS – Billy Taylor & William McDevitt
?? 23.42 lbs – A dominant performance securing the St. Johns River Monroe title!

?? 2ND PLACE – Josh Davis & John Brazzell
?? 18.10 lbs – Just enough to edge into second!

?? 3RD PLACE – Dave Austin & Tim Stewart
???? 17.76 lbs – A solid “American bag” to round out the top three!

From the first handshake Friday night to the final weigh-in Saturday afternoon, this weekend was about more than fishing. It was about faith, family, fellowship, and the sharing of the Gospel—and building new partnerships that will impact lives far beyond the water.

God is good, all the time! ??
