Wampler and Jones Win Fishers of Men on Cherokee Lake

Friday Night Meeting was at Leadvale Baptist Church where all the anglers enjoyed and great meal and fellowship as always, such a good spirit at this church. The Pastor delivered a heartfelt message that made all of us stand back and review our lives.

Saturday Morning came with unseasonable warm weather with air temperatures of 50 degrees and light winds. By weigh-in came Michael Wampler and Wes Jones came to the scales with the Hardee’s Big Bag award which weighed in at 15.76 pounds of largemouth bass. This talented team reported running their Mercury powered boat up to the mid-section of the lake to catch their fish on believe or not old school Carolina Rig. White Pine Marine, Mercury, and Phoenix Boats sponsor this team. Excellent job!!

Second place was Lance Marby and Corey Vandergriff who came to the scales with five fish for 15.65 pounds. This team reported catching most of their fish on a jerk-bait off main lake points.

Third place was Wade Jenkins and Shawn Monhollen who were blessed with a momentous day of fishing coming to the scales with 12.64 lbs. bass. This team ran their Mercury powered boat to the mid-section of the lake to catch most of their fish on spinnerbait around wind churned rocks.

Fourth place went to the father and son team of Chris and Mason Sexton with five fish weighing in at 12.33 pounds. Chris reported running to the middle part of the lake to catch their fish on a Carolina rig.

Fifth Place went to team went Chris’s brother and nephew Charlie and Jack Sexton, who came to the scales with five bass weighing in at 11.76 pounds.

Lunker of the tournament went to the father and son team of John and Thomas Underwood with a largemouth hitting the scales at 4.37 pounds.  This team reported catching this beautiful fish on a Carolina Rig.
