~~Today was our season opener on Lake Tyler with 52 teams fishing. Started out plenty cold, but the sun shone bright with a good bit of wind on the side. The top places were neck-in-neck coming in to the weigh-in while some teams had a tough go at it. We were able to pay out 11 places plus High School, Male/Female & Adult/Junior bonuses for a total of $10,291.
Great job, Jimmy Sheehy & Josh Dickens, on your 1st Place finish with a total of 18.72#! Along with their 1st Place Bonus Bucks & as the top placing Berkley Cash for Cast team, they won a total of $3,607.
Eric Thompson & Paul Ferguson came in 2nd with 18.38#. They were the 2nd highest placing team signed up for the Berkley Cash for Cast Challenge. That, combined with their 2nd Place Bonus Bucks gave them checks totaling $1,760.
Sonny Russell, Sr. & Sonny Russell, Jr. finished right behind them at 3rd with 18.34#. They brought in the Big Bass of the day weighing 6.90#. Add 3rd Place Bonus Bucks & they won a total of $1,368.
Shannon Arrington & Justin Hunley placed 4th with 17.87#, winning $657.
Todd Pierce placed 5th with 17.72#. He took home a check for $512 (appreciate your kindness & patience more than you know as we worked through our glitch).
6th Place went to Rusty Russell & Jace Lovelady with 17.14#. They were also the highest placing team with a THSBA Angler. They took home $912.00. Thank you Joey Ridgle’s Septic Service for giving to our Texas High School BASS Association Bonus!
Bobby Craig & Michael Craig finished in 7th Place with 16.85#, winning $281.
8th Place went to Braxton Hollenshead & Trey Hollenshead with 16.68#. They took home $229.
Robert Chambers & Jeff Hood finished in 9th Place with 15.59#, winning $208.
10th Place went to Terry Bradbery & Jeff Welch with 14.94#. They took home $177.
Finishing out 11th place was Brad Johnson & Chris Breedlove with 14.41# for $155.
We were able to pay a 2nd Place Big Bass today to Steve Terry & Randy Parks who weighed in that one at 6.82# for $125.
Frank & Lawanda Ellison were the highest placing Male/Female Team out of the money & won $150.
Steve Wright & Andrew Wright were the top placing Adult/Jr. team out of the money & also won $150.
Big shout out to everyone at the Lake Tyler Marina Resort who worked into the night all week on renovations & still managed to be open for breakfast for our anglers. It’s looking great!
