We had some rainy stormy weather but the fish were still biting at Lake Springfield and by weigh in at 2:00 PM, the rain had subsided. 26 teams set out to see who would go home the champs of the second derby of the season. There were three limits over 16lbs with the team of Jim Dietel and Kerry Malone at the top with 16.56lbs to take the win. A close 2nd Place was Art Mensik and Frank Favicchio with 16.23lbs. Third place was the team of John Osmer and Kim Chrisman with 16.09lbs. 4th Place was Pat Cravens and Joe Digiavonna with 15.57lbs. and the final payout spot was Mark Rahn and Jason Stomberg with  a respectable 14.32lbs. The Big Bass of the event was caught by the team of Clay Reeves and Daniel Weikle with a largemouth weighing 4.92lbs earning them the Scheels Big Bass Award of $500. The out of the money award of two custom Denali 811 Rods sponsored by The Direction TV, went to Adam Hornberger and Joe Marks. The next out of the money award of an Angler Assets Tackle Pack went to John Williams and Rick Davis. Our final prize of a 40% off a Dobyns Rod Certificate donated from Ben Green Insurance was the team of Kevin Mathews and Wes Gordon.
