SC Upstate kicked off our 2023 on LAKE RUSSELL on 1/14/23 with 36 boats.

We were hosted Friday night by our friends at Abbeville First Baptist church.  Jamie is his wonderful group of volunteers had several (15+) posts of chili, homeade cornbread, and plenty of deserts.  Those guys NEVER dissapoint!!  We are so grateful to have hosts that we can count on anytime we call!

The evening started off with some music from a young lady that just recently came to know Christ as her savior, and she wanted to share her gift of music.  She really has a gift.

Our special speaker was Mr. Truman Herring.  A new friend of mine that has a heart for sharing the Gospel with the "world".  He shared a story about a lifeguard and a watchman.  When the watchman saw a man struggling in the water, and notified the lifeguard, the lifeguard didn't jump in immediately to save the man.  He waited until the man was near death before he jumped in to save him.  The watchman asked, "why did you wait so long"?  The lifeguard explaind that before he could have the opportunity to HELP the drowning man, he had to let him get to a point to where he stopped trying to help himself when he would have most likely pulled them both under.  Where are you in YOUR struggle today?  Are you ready to give up fighting for yourself, and turn to JESUS for help?  It is REALLY that simple.  STOP trying to do it on your own, and turn to Him for help.  If that's YOU today, please reach out to me.  I would love the opportunity to talk with you.  (rodney 864-417-5804)
