We had 20 teams show up to compete on this Texas Central windy day. Competitors launched out at first light seeking to win the title of Buchanan. Bass Master. It was very windy today but the rain held off and teams were able to fish blue bird skies and temps reaching 91 degrees. We conducted an off site weigh in to eliminate crowd gathering at a public ramp. We held our weigh in at Cross and Spurs Cowboy Church, Pastor Johnny Sawyer is always willing to help and enjoys seeing and hearing what Fishers of Men Tournament Trail does.
The team of Gatewood and Pool finished the event in 1st place with an impressive bag weighing 13.58, they also took first place in Bonus Bucks and big fish honors with a 6.16 tank. Second Place went to Travis Cockerham and Logan Clark with a sack weighing 11.46, they also captured 2nd place in Bonus Bucks. Third Place was given to Gus Chavira and Toby Turner, they also took 3rd in Bonus Bucks with a total weighing in at 11.06. Mike Sedillo and Bob Reed finished the day out in 4th place with a daily limit weighing in at 10.46.
Teams fought hard to find keeper fish today, with all the wind and high temps it had the big ones playing hard to get, the word at the scales was the little ones were certainly biting all day, but the bigger ones did not want to play.
Congrats to all the winners today, June 6th will be our last divisional tournament..
