The teams took off early in the morning to begin their hunt for 3 fish.  The limit was reduced from 5 fish to 3 to prevent losing any fish to the forecasted high temperatures.  This event was the last of the season and determined which team would be the division points champion and automatically qualify to fish the National Championship at Guntersville, where two Bass Cat boats will be won!

Joe Montalbano and Amy Byrne secured their first win with 3 fish weighing 9.99 pounds, anchored by a nice 4-pound fish.  Amy managed to land the other 2 needed for a limit.  They caught them on 10" Berkley Blue Fleck power worms. Besides first place money, they also were first in the Bonus Bucks pot.

Not far behind was the team of Wes and Jeremy Potter.  Jeremy had to fish this one alone but he did good!  He had 3 fish weighing 9.66 pounds which included the big bass of the day at 4.62 pounds, good enough for second place and second spot in the Bonus Bucks.

Coming in third and taking the 3rd Bonus Bucks spot was the team of Justin Loggins and Marvin Ragland.  More importantly, that finish earned the division point championship for them.  Besides a chance to go to the National Championship, they earned a bonus of $5.00 for every tournament entry the division received throughout the year.

Our final event this year will be the District Championship at Keystone Lake on September 23 & 24th.  The Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma divisions are in this district but teams that qualified from any Fishers of Men division can also fish it.  They  will be fishing to finish high enough to advance to the National Championship.

2023 schedule will be out in September.
