2022 Berkley Team Series District 7 Championship presented by Realtree Fishing

Day two of the District 7 Championship was exciting to the end!  The weather held with the winds getting up a bit but just enough to stimulate the fishing.  We had multiple large bags come across the scales throughout the weigh in.  At the end of the day it was Teaxs East's team of John Jay and Dawson Schnautz that amazed all in attendance with an unbelievable sack weighing 30.19!  John also captured the big fish honors with a 8.88 toad!  Total for the two days was 42.99 which brought home the District Champion trophy!!  Second place on day two was the Texas North Central team of  Luke Huffman and Mark Everett with a 24.54 stringer which gave them the second place honors with a total of 39.25.  Rounding out the Day 2 top three was the Texas Central team of Erik Olsen and Kory Grelle with a bag weighing 19.62.  Third place for the championship went to Texas East's team of   Billy Waldrep and Justin Sowell, Day one leaders, with a two day total of 37.74.  Congratulations to all of the teams that qualified to go on to the National Championship!

"I would really encourage people to book a hotel room sooner than later.  The hotels will start seeing rooms booked for TX/OU weekend (October 7 & 8) starting in July.  The rates are only going to sky rocket.  Holiday Inn Express is already at $150 per night (normal on-line retail rate).  As we get into the summer and early fall, the rates will easily go up to $200 + per night.  The hotels will only be able to honor group rates until a month out from the tournament. "
