The February Event was a wonderful success. We started the Friday night pretournament banquet with a catered meal from the local Olive Garden. They were right on time and the food was good. The meal was followed with a special skit that two brothers acted out for the group and a follow up message by Chaplain Scott Gorbett. The skit was two fishermen sitting in a boat, discussing the reason for the Friday night meetings. Which person were you? The man who had no time for the meeting or the gospel or the man who shared God's word and understood the need for Jesus Christ. Chaplain Gorbett shared a true gospel message. The Lord led one to man to the saving knowledge of our Savior, one man to recommit his life, and one more to reach out with questions. This is what Fishers of Men is all about. Thanks to all of our volunteers.
Saturday morning brought a mild morning and once again Brent and the Lake Tyler Marina were gracious hosts. Coffee and breakfast biscuits were ready to be served at 5:00am. We prayed and played the national anthem before the 32 teams blasted off. Many fish were caught this tournament and Lake Tyler produced 3 fish over 10 lbs and another 2 fish over 9 lbs. The team of Pickett and Little had Big Bass honors with a 10.31 female. Finishing at the top of the heap was once again the team of French and Marshall. They had a total of 30.16 lbs.
We want to thank all the fishing teams and friends who came out to support and fellowship with the North Central division. We hope to see everyone out at our March 22 tournament of Lake Palestine!
