Texas East/O'Farrell Transport Stop #3   - Sam Rayburn

Texas East’s third event of the year found us enjoying the unbelievable hospitality of Broaddus ISD as they opened the high school doors for our ministry to have our pre-tournament banquet.  We are so very thankful for Lucas Holloway and his staff for all they do to help the community and our ministry.

We were treated to fried catfish, shrimp, hushpuppies and French fries from Ray Goldsmith and food services, Southern Comfort. Mercy, the food was a huge hit with all of our fishing family!

Assistant Director and Pastor, Larry Daigle brought a message of the power of prayer as a means to help guide our families and live out our lives.  His message resonated with our folks as we had over 60 written prayer requests, 4 first time decisions for the Lord and 6 people that committed to rededicate their lives to a better walk with Jesus.   The Holy Spirit was moving in a big way!

Saturday’s weather was spectacular and the fishing was fantastic!  We had several large bass caught with two over 9lbs!  In the end Cameron Roane, fishing solo, weighed in the winning sack and big bass of the day. His total was 27.08 with his big bass tipping the scales at 9.37.  Cameron brought home the $10,000 plus bonus bucks dollars so he had a productive day!  Second place honors went to a long time Texas East team, Tater Reynolds and George Jeane who brought 23.74 to the scales.  Tater and George also won the $1000 loyalty money so they too had a great day.  Rounding out the top three was the team of Brad and Landon Beasley who brought a stringer in weighing 18.14.

Our next event, Skero Furniture is our signature sponsor, is April 12/13 as we head back to Toledo Bend for the last time this season.  We are excited about Toledo Bend being the location of the District 7 Championship in October so we are anticipating great numbers as the other teams in Texas may want to come do some scouting to get ready for that event

Our meeting will be held on April 12 and will be at FBC Hemphill with Chris Kouba, Sr Pastor, United City Church, coming to speak.   Skero Furniture will once again be providing our meal and it is going to be delicious!
