Texas East Third Stop- Sam Rayburn, presented by O'Farrell Transport
Texas East’s O’Farrell Transport third stop had us back on Big Sam and it was going to show one more time that it can be a tough lake no matter what the weather.
We were once again blessed to have Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jasper Texas as our host. They rolled out the red carpet for us and had the entire banquet hall totally set up for us when we got there with over 350 tables and chairs. The extra effort from the staff was so much appreciated!
Daron Skero provided the BBQ chicken and sausage which was off the charts! We had baked beans, potato salad and rolls and Hillcrest Baptist provided all of the deserts which were awesome!
Texas East’s own Larry Daigle was our speaker and he brought a message that found the Holy Spirit moving within our fishing family and led one of our young service team members to ask Christ into her heart along with 5 others commit to rededicate and refocus their lives in following the Lord. God is good and we are on mission!
Saturday was an absolutely beautiful day. The temps in the morning were in the 50’s and it warmed up to the high 70’s with the sun shining, light winds and not a cloud in the sky. Most of our teams stayed on the water until the last minute even if they weren’t catching recordable fish just enjoying the fine day the Lord provided. As the scales closed the cream came to the top and the team of Tater Reynolds and George Jeanne took the top spot with a sack weighing 25.95. Second place honors went to Zane and Billy Parker with a 24.84 stringer. Rounding out the top three was the team of Len Adcock and Ryan McWilliams with a bag of bass that weighed 21.07. Big Bass honors went to Bill Lambert with a Big Sam toad that tipped the scales at 9.74.
All of this would not have happened if it weren’t for all of the hard work that the Texas East staff put in to making this a pleasurable event for everyone, so thanks so much for your servant hearts!
Next stop is Toledo Bend on the 12th of April with the pre-tournament banquet on the 11th at FBC Hemphill.
