The last tournament of the 2025 Fishers of Men Indiana North Division season took place at the scenic Prairie Creek Reservoir. Nine teams gathered early Saturday morning, eager to cast lines in hopes of finishing strong in the season standings and claiming top honors on the lake and for the season. Jeff Hackler and Gary Straber looked to repeat for the fourth straight year. The only team within reach was Garrick Straber and Shayne Robbins, who last won the points championship in 2021. Straber and Robbins would need the help of the other seven teams fishing to pull off a come-from-behind victory and put pressure on Hackler and Straber. With hot temps and a stingy bite, that wouldn’t be the case as Hackler and Straber pulled off their victory of the season, winning the points championship for the fourth straight year.

No team weighed in a five-fish limit, as water temperatures of 82 degrees in some spots and the bluebird skies didn’t provide good cover for shallow-biting fish.

Coming to the scales first was the team of Carl and Sharon Davis, with one bass caught by Sharon deep up in a channel on a tube, weighing 2.33 pounds. Davis’ lonely bass would hold the big bass honors and give them a 3rd place finish on the day, as well as a third-place finish overall in points.

Garrick Straber and Shayne Robbins were once again the bridesmaids for the second time in the season and finished second overall in team points. The duo brought in 20 of 25 fish for the season, leading that category. They finished the tournament with two keepers on the day totaling 3.64 pounds, finishing the season with 35.14 pounds and 990 points.

For Jeff Hackler and Gary Straber, it was business as usual, weighing in three fish with a net weight of 4.49 pounds, taking top honors on the day and hoisting the Raptor Rods / Litchfield Lures first-place trophies and the points championship belts. Hackler and Straber finished seven points ahead of Straber and Robbins.

With the 2025 season wrapped up, anglers are already looking forward to the regional tournament being held next month on the Ohio River, launching from Tanner’s Creek.

Congratulations to all the anglers for a great season of competition, fellowship, and faith on the water. Tight lines, and we’ll see you next season!

Thank-you to all the sponsors of Indiana North and FOMNTT!
