The Fishers of Men District 3 event, Hosted by the Greenwood Regional Tourism and Visitors Bureau was on Lake Greenwood for the two day tournament.

Many thanks to our host team Erin Nodine and Kelly McWharter who made everyone feel welcome and at home for our Thursday night meeting.  The meal of good ole southern barbeque hit the spot.  Its so great to have great hosts!

One of our own, John Byrd delivered the inspriation message on Thursday night.  The key verses in Matthew chapter 7 were a clear reminder that the path to Heaven is narrow.  Jesus paid the price for our sins, but we are responsible for deciding to accept the Free gift of salvation.  John challenged everyone to consider where we were on our life journey, and to take heart of the Gospel message and surrender to Christ if we had never made that decision.  Praise God for the three 1st time decisions to Follow Christ as their Saivior!

Both tournament days offered up some great weather for our anglers on Lake Greenwood.  The mornings were brisk with a little wind and the fish were fairly active.  Finding fish was not the issue, most anglers shared.  The problem was getting the bigs to play.  Many fish were caught but it was tough getting the right bite.

Collin and Greg Smith came out swinging on day 1 with a couple of 5 pounders that anchored them with 18.41 lbs.  2nd on Day one trailed by nearly 5 lbs.  Those 2 fish made a big difference!  Day 2 would prove to be tougher for our winners, but they managed to grind out a 9.69 lb bag that would secure their victory in this 2 Day District 3 event on Greenwood, and two day weight of 28.1 lbs.

This event is a qualifier for the 2026 National on Toledo Bend.  The top 20% from this event, top finishing Bass Cat, top fininshing Mercury, and top finishing A/J teams all earned thier birth to participate in int he National on Toledo Bend. Congratulations!
