The second tournament of the West Boggs Division of the Firefly took place on March 25.
With 13 teams competing, only a total of 22 keepers were weighed in. While the number of fish was low, the quality of the few brought in was very good. The average size fish for the tournament was 3.65 lb. Out of the 22 fish weighed, we had 4 fish over 5 lb and two more over 4 lb.
Only one team was able to boat a limit of fiv ekeepers. TJ Lee and Jody Blackburn brought in five that weighed 15.81 for the win. Included in their limit was a bass that weighed 4.70.
The second place team was Jim Key Jr. and Jim Key III. They had three bass that weighed in at 12.73. Their kicker fish weighed 6.55 lb.
Big fish honors went to Ron Maxwell and Joe Moon. Ron and Joe had the biggest fish our division has ever weighed in. The big pre-spawn female tipped the scales at 7.65 lb.
Our next tournament will be on April 8.
