Stop #3 of the Florida North Division on the St. Johns River wasn’t just a tournament—it was a powerful reminder of what happens when Faith, Family, and Fellowship take center stage.

The weekend kicked off Friday night at First Baptist Church of Astor, where Pastor Justin and his team welcomed 13 eager teams with incredible warmth and hospitality. What started as a gathering quickly turned into something deeper—laughter shared over pizza, stories exchanged between competitors, and genuine connections forming among anglers and families alike. As the room filled with fellowship, Chaplain Brock stepped forward with a message that struck home: go where God calls you, and don’t hesitate to share the Gospel. It wasn’t just heard—it was felt. Everyone left that night not just full, but spiritually fueled and ready for what lay ahead.

Saturday morning brought a crisp breeze and a quiet anticipation across the water. As the boats launched and the sun began to rise, Chaplain Brock once again centered the moment in prayer. Then came the call every angler waits for—“Boat 1!” Engines roared to life, echoing across the river as competitors set out in pursuit of not just fish, but victory.

What followed was a day of challenge, strategy, and perseverance. Some teams returned with only stories, while others cracked the code of the river. At weigh-in, the air was electric—every ounce mattered, every bag told a story. The competition was fierce, with just .16 ounces separating second and third place.

In the end:

  • Bobby Patterson and Matt Wells battled hard to secure third place with 21.42 pounds.
  • Tray Bozeman and Luke Wright edged ahead for second with 21.58 pounds.
  • And rising above the rest, Cody Morgan and Brant Langley delivered a dominant performance—27.94 pounds, anchored by a massive 9-pound bass—to claim first place in unforgettable fashion.

But beyond the weights and standings, something far greater took place. Lives were encouraged. Friendships were strengthened. Faith was boldly shared.

This wasn’t just about fishing—it was about purpose.

As the weekend came to a close, one thing was clear: God moved. And in every cast, every conversation, and every connection, He alone received the glory.

Next stop: the Harris Chain. And if this weekend was any indication… you won’t want to miss what’s coming.

God bless.
