SC Upstate Legacy had our 2nd event of 2026 on Lake Secession on 4/25/2026 with 13 Boats.
Our Host church, Beaverdam Baptist Church in Williamston absolutely KNOCKED it out of the PARK on Friday night! Not only were wer right at home there, they provided an awesome LOW COUNTRY BOIL with Shrimp, Grits, Sausage, Corn, Potatoes.... Man oh Man, that was a GOOD MEAL!!
I personally want to thank Derrick Burton for reaching out to me last year about his church serving as a Host, It means so much to us to have Friends that really want to support what we are trying to do with FOM. Derrick has been involved with our division for over 4 years, participating with his Son and Brother in local and national events. The LEGACY series was created for families like the Burtons, who desire to find a family friendly tournament trail that is very unique allowing all 3 to be in the boat together. What a cool story for the Burtons!
Friday night, we were also blessed to have Derrick as our inspirational speaker. He and his other son, Dillon tag teamed the message for our anglers. Derrick shared a devotion, and then read a challenging letter written by Dillon.
The Devotion was about recognizing when to move to a new pasture, spiritually speaking. A couple of key questions: 1- How vibrant is your Spiritual Life (your Pasture) 2- What areas are stagnant? Just like Psalm 23:1-3 explains how the Lord is our Shepherd and He guides us to those "pastures" that we need thorughout our lives. He can renew our spiritual strength if we just FOLLOW him.
Dillon's message to us was to RUN to God when things get tough. This is what Christians do, which is to seek out the voice of our Shepherd when we need him. Our part is to continually and intentionally work on our relationship with our Savior. We do this by spending time in the Bible and with other "SHEEP" (Christians).
The challenge for us (and YOU) is to consider where you are in light of the GOOD SHEPHERD. Do you know his voice? Have you accepted Him as your Savior? If not, would you like to? We would be happy to answer any questions you have about our Good Shepherd so that you could KNOW him.
Thanks Again to Derrick and Beverdam Baptist for an INCREDIBLE evening of food, fellowship, and an encouraging word.
Saturday's tournament went smooth, and some teams figured out how to get the bigger fish to bite. It was really fun to watch the young anglers and familes coming out to make memories.
Congratulations to HUDSON LOGAN and BILLY CAMPBELL on the win with their three fish weighing 9.47 lbs. Logan also snagged the JR BIG FISH that weighed 4.33 lbs. NICE JOB!!!
Stay tuned to the website for future events!
