What an incredible weekend it was for the 3rd event of season for Fishers of Men Texas Central anglers. The weekend commenced with an event at Fellowship Church Round Rock, where attendees were served pizza, salad, and a variety of desserts. Jordan Pearson delivered a message about "Leaving a Legacy," which was met with great appreciation. Anglers participated in a massive raffle where we gave away Barracuda Bait products, Berkley Fishing products, Fish 4:19 glasses, rods, reels, gift cards from Tightlines Premium Tackle, Coda Jigs and an array of other items. We enjoyed fellowship, covered particulars for the tournament, and assigned boat numbers.
Saturday morning, we gathered at Emma Long Park in Austin to hit the water and find the five biggest fish to bring to the scales, the waters did not disappoint, despite all the jet skiing, the wake boats and traffic on the water anglers went to work and capitalized early.
Trent Blake and Phillip Thompson took control of the leader board and never let up. The two came in with 23.64lbs. Hunter Amidon fished solo and was able to capture 2nd place with 22.75lbs. Brennan Fertig and James Beauchamp held third place, the two came in with 20.29 pounds. Fourth Place went to the team of Phillip Massoletti and William Bristow with a limit tilting the scales at 19.43lbs. Justin Rathbun needed a sub today and invited his father to fish with him, the two took 5th place and Lonnie caught the Real Tree Monster Big Bass with a beast weighing 9.53. The team finished with a total of 17.91. Sixth Place goes to John Price and Dusty Frank with a total of 15.90 pounds. The last paying place went to Jayson Kisselburg, he fished solo and was able to grab 7th place with 14.48.
We had such a wonderful time this weekend hanging out with everyone and sharing the Gospel. Texas Central Fishers of Men tournament trail is such an incredible organization, and we could not be happier to steward this blessing he has called us to. The anglers and the families involved are so special to us, thank you all for fishing with us and allowing us to call you all family.
