Allan Glasgow wins 2020 Abu Garcia UBC Championship

The 2020 Fishers of Men Ultimate Bass Challenge (UBC) Championship Presented by Treasure Coast Sports Commission kicked off Wednesday evening at Captain Hiroam's Resort where our anglers enjoyed a great meal and message from Fishers of Men Pro Andy Montgomery.

The first serious cold front of the year had just gone through which made fishing tougher than we would have liked but the UBC Championship which features the Major League Fishing format still provided plenty of fireworks and drama.

Qualifying in the top spot from day 1 was Allan Glasgow who flipped up almost 19 lbs. Finishing second was Chris Newell who had Russ Nixon, Al Odom and Matt Crain nipping at his heels at the lines out call at 3:00 pm. Glasgow had the Day 1 Big Fish at 6 lbs 7 oz.

Qualifying in the top spot from Day 2 was Chris Cooper who weighed almost 21 lbs. Finishing 2nd was George Crain whose 15 lbs 12 oz  edged out Brad Osborn and Barry Isbell  by less than a keeper fish. Brad had the days Big Fish at 6 lbs even.

Championship Saturday presented a new set of challenges as all the anglers were sent to a new section that was previously off limits and weather that started off with sunny skies and a gentle breeze out of the south which switched around to the north clouds rolling end as a seond cold front moved through. After a slow start which only saw 3 keeper bass caught during the first 3 hours Allan Glasgow made a Big move and totally changed areas and techniques and proceeded to run away with the title by flipping up some Big bass including the Events Best 6 lb 14 oz. He totaled up 7 bass for 27 lbs 12 oz and slaimed the Title of UBC National Champion. Finishing second was Allan's team partner George Crain who tallied up 10 lbs 12 oz. Chris Newell finished 3rd and Chris Cooper finished 4th.
