Cody Thompson and Ethan Cox take first place and winnings over $3,200 on Lake Hickory!
Curtis Cox brought the powerful word of God to us again this week a continuation on the back of our last meeting from 1 Corinthians 16: 13-14 “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”
What should have been a perfect time of the year to fish Hickory was anything but perfect. It has been tough fishing our lakes so far this year and so was Hickory. The heavy rains earlier in the week had trashed much of the lake. The team of Cody Thompson and Ethan Cox was one of only six teams to bring a limit to the scales and they weighed 16.70 lbs. to take home 1st place and $3,200. 2nd place went to Chad Sims and Ryan Sommerville with 13.99 lbs. and winnings of $1172. 3rd place went to Billy Wright and Grant McPeters with 12.46 lbs. and winnings of $815. Rounding out the teams in the money was 4th place Mike Coley and Alan Thompson with 11.74 lbs. 5th place went to Randy Weddington and Ronnie Smith with 11.62 lbs. 6th place went to Shawn Williams and Curtis Cox with 11.26 lbs.
The Big Fish Of the tournament and $500 went to Randy Weddington and Ronnie Smith with a 6.29 lb large mouth.
Chris Brown won the Rock Outdoors $250 bonus for the highest place finish in a Rock Outdoor purchased boat.
Rick Bradford/Nick Shaver won the team out of the money drawing from the Tillery tournament. Free entry into a tournament.
Steve Sink won the Rock Outdoor Legends Bonus from the Tillery tournament.
