It was a beautiful day on the Shenandoah River for our first tournament of the 2021 season. We started the day by looking at the verse 1 Peter 2:3, which reads “if indeed you have tasted that the Lord if good.” We cannot be complacent until we tell others about God’s goodness. We cannot be complacent in our own lives and only trust God when times are good. We must stay firmly attached to God, our anchor. We launched out of Moulton park as the sun was coming over the mountains. We were a small crowd today but several fish decided to corporate which was great for the kids. We had some fierce competition on the water, but not with each other…with all the cicadas that the bass were munching on. The sun was high but we got off the water before it got too hot.
First place goes to the team of Kevin, Morgan and Daniel Coley. They weighed in 5 fish for 11lbs. They also had the big fish which was 4.0 lbs. Jigs and swimbaits were their weapon’s of choice.
Second place goes to the team of Jeff Copenhaver and Joah Coley. They weight in 5 fish for 6lbs. Flukes and grubs were their weapons of choice.
Third place goes to the team of Brittany Copenhaver and Lillian Coley. They weighed in 2 fish for 3 lbs. Flukes brought their two keepers to the scales.
