On Saturday morning April 2 fifty two boats showed up to fish in the annual Doug Hanes Memorial Ice Breaker Open. Temperatures were in the twenties with an expected high in the fortys. Even with frosty boats and slick ramps we launched at 7:30 for a day of fishing.

Even iwith water temperatures in the fortys and cold air some fish were brought to the scales. The team of Jeremy and Travis Tenwalde were our winners with a five fish limit weighing 11.56#. In second was Jeff Moore and Jon Wells with a limit weighing 10.99# which included the big bass of the day which weighed 3.73#. Third place went to Kevin Gross and Danny Faulkner with 8.05#. The Barnetts took 4th with 7.73# followed by Tony Collins and Gary Mohler with 6.45#. Second big bass honors weighing 3.34# went to Jeff Grimes and Ed Allen.
