2021 Berkley Team Series District 10 Championship

The District 10 Regional Tournament started off with a Thursday evening meeting at East Harbor State Park Lockwood Shelter House. The 26 teams, who had qualified and entered the event, were treated to a chicken dinner with potato salad and slaw. After the meal our speaker Steve Clapper, one of the legends on Lake Erie presented our inspiration message. Steve spoke about eternity and that we will all spend it somewhere. He challenged people to follow Jesus and spend eternity with the Lord and not somewhere else.

On Friday morning the teams were meet with light winds, which are a blessing on Lake Erie, and fair weather. The launch was held at daybreak from the West Harbour public ramp and the race was on to find the biggest limit of fish. The tournament volunteer team of Dave Faler, Shaun Hamrick, Steve Dungan, Paul Yohey, and Jason Merschman got busy preparing the site for the weigh-in.

All the teams returned at their assigned times and twenty teams brought a limit to the scales. The Ohio adult / junior team of Justen and Ty Fain brought in the biggest limit weighing 24.33 lbs. Right behind them was the Hunter Colwell and Colton Wreede from Ohio with a limit weighing 23.09. Next in line was the Indiana Team of Wayne Mackin and John DeVries with five bass weighing 22.53 lbs including the days big bass weighing 5.86 lbs. In forth was another Ohio adult / junior team Jerry Smith and Chad Bradley Jr who brought a limit to the scales weighing 20.61 lbs. The Indiana team, and last years District Champions, John Santos and Matthew McClanahan came in with a limit weighing 19.72 lbs.
