2021 Berkley Team Series District 3 Championship

The District 3 Championship kicked off Wed. evening with a great meal provided by our awesome Host Visit Oconee. Thanks to Charlotte Waters and all her efforts to make this event a success! Major League Fishing Fishers of Men Pro Andy Montgomery brought a challenging message to our anglers about knowing where we will spend eternity whenever that day comes.
Thursday morning dawned much cooler with light winds as 57 teams blasted off in search of the right fish to bring to the scales.
Come 3 o'clock someone always brings a good bag to the scales. Leading the charge on Day 1 was the team of BJ Ballard and Chastan Hanna with a bag that weighed 15.42 lbs. Coming in 2nd was the team of Johothan and Wayne Botts with 13.79 lbs. Finishing 3rd on Day 1 ws the team of Eddie Landreth and Tony Holliday with 13.59 lbs. in 4th place sits the team of Danny Ashley and Blake Riddle with 13.22 lbs and rounding out the top 5 was the team of Bryan Miller and John Byrd III with 12.60 lbs. They also had the Day 1 Big Fish a beautiful 4.82 lb largemouth.
The top 11 teams in this event will earn a check and berth into the prestigious Fishers of Men National Championship. Currently the 11th place check weight is 11.06 lbs so the top 25 teams are all less than a pound and a half from qualifying.
