Very blessed by the Fom NC Piedmont division to have been able to bring God’s Word this year. Thank y’all for fishing with us & making all our jobs easy. Here are few points I mentioned this morning that hopefully will speak to your heart & help us all want to be closer to Jesus Christ. Please let us know if we can pray for you in any way!
John 20:30-31 30) “Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31) but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
Our main focus in life should be to know Jesus more. Verse 31 says “these are written so that you may believe”
To know Jesus we must know His Word.
John’s main purpose of his book is to show us that “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
Let me also point you to Hebrews 8:13 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
That should comfort us in today’s world when nothing else can.
When this world seems too much to bear, there is hope & that hope is in Jesus Christ!! Because His Word says He is the same yesterday, today & forever!!
Badin Lake was the destination for our final stop of the regular season. Only a few big fish showed up but overall the fishing was good with 50 limits being weighed in.
The Team of Tony Foster & Tommy Colman weighed in 16.77 lbs. and took 1st place and $4,587 in winnings. They reported catching their fish on soft plastics.
2nd place went to the team of Dustin Horne & Bud Ratliff with 16.36 lbs. and $1,552 in winnings. They reported catching their fish on soft plastics.
Brice Hollis and Jody Moore captured 3rd place with 16.23 lbs. and the Big Fish of the tournament (5.48 lbs.) and winnings of $1735. They reported catching their fish on big worms.
4th place went to Shawn Williams & Curtis Cox with 15.29 lbs. and winnings of $700
5th place went to Todd Harris & Chris Brown their weight of 15.06 lbs. brought them $500 in winnings.
Rounding out the teams in the money was 6th place Randy Weddington & Ronnie Smith with 14.25 lbs. 7th place went to one of our Legend teams Eddie Caudill & Frank Denny with 13.75 lbs. 8th place Kevin Pratt & Tyler Clement with 13.70 lbs. 9th place Steve Summer & Jason Thomas 13.22 lbs. 10th place was Calvin McCaskill & Joseph Campbell with 12.99 lbs. 11th place Zach & Les McLean with 12.88 lbs. 12th place went to Mark & Audrey Bayse with 12.78
The Points Championship was very close all season. When the dust settled the team of Chad Poteat & Maurice Freeze was our 2022 NC Piedmont Champs taking home $1,610, very nice trophies and qualified them for the 2023 National Championship on Lake Hartwell.
- Chris Brown won the $250 bonus for being the highest placing team in a new boat purchased from Rock Outdoors in the last 36 months.
- Our Legends bonus winner was Gary Abbott who receive $150 Rock Outdoor gift certificate.
- The Team Out of the money drawing winner was Tony & Jerris Bush they won a $150.
- Morgan Benton won the $50 Rock Outdoors bonus for the highest finishing youth under 16 yrs.
- The $1,000 drawing for the teams that fished all five tournaments was won by Scott & Matt Henley
I want to thank everyone for fishing with us this season. We had a record number of anglers averaging 65 boats and over $11,000 in payouts per tournament. Please tell all your friends to come and fish with us next season. I also want to thank our staff that worked very hard at each tournament. Jenua Nester, Shawn Williams, Curtis Cox, Kenneth & John Shumate, Brent Robertson and Tim Ramey.
NC District Championship is on Falls Lake Sept. 9th & 10TH
I will be sending out a survey in a few weeks, asking what lakes you would like to fish for 2023. Keep in mind that we hope to average over 70 boats next year.
