The Indiana North Division of Fishers of Men held their second tournament of the season at Lake Wawasee in Syracuse, on May 7th, 2022.
The group meal and meeting was held at the Hunter Lodge on the Quaker Haven Campgrounds located just 6 miles from the ramp.
Some of those staying the evening at the lodge enjoyed a nice relaxing evening setting around the dinner table playing Scrabble to pass the time before turning in for the night.
The Saturday morning tournament has six teams competing at taking off out of the Wawasee Public Ramp The morning started off with a calm breeze and 48 degrees. Southwest winds picked up to 12 mph causing some moderate choppy water on the main lake. That didn't keep the team of Gary Straber and his son Logan filling in as a sub to fishing a bay using moving baits to pick up their 5 fishing limit before the sun was fully up. Once the sunlight broke open Gray and Jeff moved into the channels to culling fish.
Logan and his father held on the top spot to earn back-to-back wins and out do brother Garrick Straber and his partner Shayne Robbins with 9.02 pounds. Gary and Logan finished the day with near one and half pound win at 10.51 pounds. Gary also brought top big bass honors presented by CMA Truck and Auto dot com with a 2.77 pound large mouth to edge out Josh Klinghagen at 2.58 pounds.
Gary and Logan's win gives them back to back wins for Team Raptor Fishing who is the presenting sponsor of our 1st place plaques.
The north division will fish their third event June 4th down in Muncie on Prairie Creek.
