Welcome to the District 10 Championship, presented by Realtree Fishing, on East Fork Lake. Thanks to Jeff Blom and Chelsea Vollman with the Clairmont County Convention and Visitors Bureau for given us the opportunity to have this event.
Everything began on Thursday night with the fishermen and staff gathering at the First Baptist Church of Glen Este. Thanks to Pastor Bob Johnson, aka PBJ, for opening the doors of his Church to us. We were treated to a cookout with brats, hamburgers, and all the sides. After dinner Mike McIntosh brought us a message and expressed that now is the time to turn or lives over to Jesus and encourage us to tell others.
Bright and early Thursday morning the fishermen arrived at the ramp to get started on the two day event. After the launch was complete the boats were sent out at safe light. With waters dropping, slight cold front, and blue bird sky’s it looked like the fishing may be on the tough side. It did prove to be that but some of our teams found some fish and brought them to the scales. The Indian South team of John Santos and Matt McClanahan took the day one lead with five fish weighing 8.69 pounds along with the days big bass weighing 2.74 pounds. Second place with five bass weighing 8.48 pounds was the team of Mike Boggs and Curt Fish out of Indian South. The Ohio team of Robert and Tristen Walters had a limit weighing 5.68 pounds holding down third. In fourth place was Jebadiah Bond and Kelby Waldrip from Indiana South with three bass weighing 5.16 pound, followed by the Ohio team of J Manning and Brandan Trogdlon with three weighing 3.73b pounds.
Tomorrow is a new day and who knows what might happen.
