Event #4 for Fishers of Men Texas Central has come to close. The event started Friday night with an ugly storm rolling through Central Texas, tornados, hail, strong winds and down pours occurred as anglers made their way to First Baptist Church of Granite Shoals, TX. We were blessed to gather and enjoy a great dinner of pulled pork, potato salad, beans and a boat load of cookies, brownies and other sweets supplied by Mike and Lisa Crane. We certainly enjoyed all the labor that went into the meal and thank the Crane family for it all.
Pastor Jeff Garner presented a message on the importance of reframing from anger, the message was well received by all those in attendance. Following the message, we reviewed tournament specifics and went over some regularly stated rules for Fishers of Men events. In true fashion we closed the meeting with a massive raffle and our complimentary spouse prize drawings. We certainly appreciate our anglers for bringing their family members to our family friendly events.
Saturday morning started off with wind and ended with wind. The only thing that changed was the intensity of that wind, by 10am the wind was making a statement and continued to get worse. By weigh in time the wind was blowing hard enough to make Lake LBJ look like the water in the Gulf. Anglers will certainly sleep well tonight after spending all day trying to battle the white caps and forceful wind out there.
At the end of the day Hal Gatewood and Andy Whitehead received the title of LBJ Champs, they brought in a sack of five weighing 18.88lbs for the event. Mitch Randles and Don Schuetze came in a close second with 18.50lbs, their limit was anchored by Big Bass for the event that came in at 6.66lbs. Father / Son team of Jayson and Lake Kisselburg took the third-place spot with a limit weighing 14.31lbs. Fourth place was secured by John Koons and Will Van Der Hoeven with a limit weighing in at 13.28lbs.
