2022 Berkley Team Series District 7 Championship presented by Realtree Fishing

District 7 Championship began with a grest meeting at Bass Pro Shops on beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard. The weather was absolutely perfect and the meeting was met with enthusiasm and excitement. Our hosts, Visit Garland , did an excellent job in preparing for our anglers to have a weekend of good worry free fishing. Whataburger catering set up a burger bar and the men and women filled up on a Texas tradition. Pro Angler and FOM Ministry Partner, Nick Lebrun, shared his testimony and heart with a story of redemption. The spirit moved and many made decisions of rededication to stronger walk with the Lord.
Friday morning found us on the dock ready to blast off 41 teams ready to tackle a stingy Ray Hubbard. The weather was perfect as the teams took to the water. The weigh in brought every team to the scales with fish and lots of stories to go with them. The team of Justin Sowell and Billy Waldrep of Texas East led the day one leaderbord with a sack weighing 21.49. Texas East's male/female team of Teddy and Jessica Thibodeaux trailed in second with a 17.40 bag. Texas Central's team of Ty Eller and Bill Shenutt rounded off the top three with a 15.45 stringer. All of the anglers were excited about the prospects of day two and were ready to get some rest and re-rig.
