Robin Collins and Ronnie White win on Norman with 18.79 pounds and collect over $4,500 in winnings.
Our morning started off with our very own Curtis Cox bringing God’s word. Notes from Curtis: praise God, He held off the rains until our worship time was finished. Here’s the highlights of our pre-tournament worship…
You see what happened on good Friday 2k plus years ago Jesus was lifted high for all to see. Crucified on that cross.
Isaiah 5:35…But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
When you see that word “pierced” there I want you to think about how one of the guards ran a spear just under Jesus’s rib cage to BELIEVE his death had really happened. This was not just coincidence.
John 19:31-35…. “Since it was the day of Preparation, and so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away. So, the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who had been crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water. He who saw it has borne witness—his testimony is true, and he knows that he is telling the truth—that you also may believe.”
They had broken the legs of the other 2 men so they would suffocate quicker...
However, you see that guard did not break Jesus’s legs which was actually fulfilling Old Testament prophecy, instead he ran the spear into his body to see the “blood and water” come out of him.
I feel like that water represents a cleansing & the blood the forgiveness of all humanity that believes in Him as Lord & Savior.
You see guys/gals that coming Sunday, there was an unexplainable phenomenon happening.
The stone covering the tomb where Jesus’s body laid was rolled away…...Matthew 28:6 tells “He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.”
Jesus Christ ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father on our behalf!
Guys/gals we are all sinners, we might as well have been the guard shoving that spear into His body, but we also need to understand that it says that guard went out telling the truth. We to need to be telling of the truth that is Jesus!! And because of His death we have a chance if we don’t know Him as Lord to be resurrected also!
We blasted off 58 boats on a Cold rainy morning. This was no doubt one of the nastiest days of tournament weather I have seen. However, the fish liked the nasty weather because the bite was good. Robin Collins and Ronnie White took 1st place with 18.79 pounds and winnings of $4,512. They reported catching their fish on a Senko around rock and pier poles. 2nd place went to the team of Roger Hoover and Scott Hamrick with 17.43 pounds and the Big Fish of 5.98 pounds with total winnings of $2,007. They reported catching their fish very shallow on rock and wood with chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and jigs. 3rd place went to the team of Les and Zach McLean with 16.25 pounds and winnings of $1,205. They reported catching their fish with a Senko and Shakey head around docks. 4th place went to the team of Tony and Jerris Bush with 16.12 pounds and winnings of $700. The team of Chris Coble and Jim Long took 5th place with 15.69 pounds and winnings of $500. Rounding out the teams in the money was 6th place Jarrett Freeze and Rodney Adams. 7th Billy Wright and Grant McPeters. 8th Shawn Williams and Curtis Cox. 9th Bart and Wyatt Hill. 10th Tony Foster and Steve Sink. 11th Rodney Cozart and Mitch Drew.
I want to thank our staff for all their help and thank all of you for fishing with us. This was an exceptionally good turnout considering the weather conditions. Our next tournament is May 13th on Badin Lake. Our meeting will be on the water before blast off.
The Team of Robert Trueblood and Ricky Wright won the team out of the money drawing and will receive a free entry into Badin.
