Well my first tournament as a director is in the books. I started the Texas DFW division up this season for 2024. On Friday, February 23rd, 2024 we held our first meeting at First Baptist Malakoff. We had 28 people in attendance and Smokin Guns BBQ catered the event.  Drew Boring, who attends First Baptist and also fished the event Saturday February 24th, brought the message for the meeting. Drew truly was speaking Gods word, and we had one rededication Friday evening.

Saturday brought great weather that wasn't typical of February, but the fishing was slow for some.  However, 4 teams did manage to bring in a 5 fish limit. Our tournament winners Justin Garnett & Tommy Hulsey Jr. brought 15.97 pounds to the scales and took home $847.50. The 2nd place team of Joey Hanna and Jason Barber were right on their heals and brought in 15.51 pounds to the scales.  Joey and Jason took home a total of $432.50. Our third place team was Richard Meager and he weighed in 12.79 pounds.  Richard was the first team out of the money, but thanks to one of our local sponsors Johnson Fiberglass in Burleson,TX Richard took home $100. Our big bass of the tournament was weighed in by Mike Adams and it weight 5.86 pounds, Mike took home $60 for Big Bass.

Our next event will be March 16th on Richland Chambers and I look forward to it being an awesome event and having even more anglers fish.
