Garrett and Rogers win Douglas!!!
Story by Steve Jennings
Friday Night Meeting was at Leadvale Baptist Church. The ladies and men of the church provided a great meal of lasagna, garlic bread and ice cream for desserts. After, everyone had eaten, Steve Sexton delivered a great message that made everyone do a review of their life, and we had one young lady get saved!!
Saturday morning the Fishers of Men gang awoke to partly cloudy skies 55-degree air temperature, warming to the 80s by the end of the day. This was probably one of the prettiest days we have had all year.
First place went to the team of Rod Garrett and Paul Rogers who came to the scales with a limit of bass weighing in at 13.20 pounds. This talented team reported doing there normal thing of fishing a jig. They fished as shallow as a foot out to 15 feet of water to collect the win on beautiful Douglas Lake. With this win they future advance their lead in the Points championship race with only one tournament left.
Second place went to the team of Jason White and Chet Burgess who came to the scales with five-fish weighing in at 11.51 pounds. They also tied for lunker at 3.41 lbs. Jason reported running to the river to catch their fish shallow on topwater baits.
Third place went to the team with Josh Beeler and Ryan Galyon 11.17 pounds of bass. Ryan reported catching fish early on a Carolina Rig and later in the day making a run down the lake to cull most of the fish caught earlier. This team stated that they fished water less than 8 feet all day long.
As stated earlier the lunker for the tournament was a tie at 3.41 lbs. Chester Wooten and Tim Vanover also had a largemouth bass that weighed 3.41 pounds.
