Our second event of the year was on Smith Mountain lake, VA.  The bite was much tougher today then the previous day. Cloudy conditions in the morning leading into steady breezy winds and sunshine seemed to put the fish in a funk.   Morning shallow bite seemed to be short and quick as some teams spoke of this.  Mid morning the bite seemed to of died off and became a struggle for most. Defending Points Champion of 2023, Jonathan Thompson and Tyler Thompson captured 1st place with a 17.39 lb bag.  They had a limit early, but made a few key culls late in the day chasing shad fish to secure the win.  Colten Fink and Chad Morgan followed up with 2nd place finish at 16.32 lbs.  These guys had a few bed fish marked they were able to land and take home some cash and hardware. Kevin Allison landed 3rd place with 15.48 lbs with a bag of 3 smallies mixed.  Kevin likes chasing brown fish and always enjoy his smallies he brings in.  Matt Atkins and Matt Foster bought 13.38 lbs in for 4th place finish to take home a little bit of cash.  One of the Legacy teams that joined us, Micheal Fairall and Landon Bradley, Landon brought in the Big Bass weighing at 5.28 lbs winning Big Fish of the day!  Congrats young man and well done!!   Good job to everyone else!  Was a much tougher bite then we all anticipated but someone always seems to catch em and yall did!  Thank you Lord for a safe and blessed weekend!
