Texas East Stop #4 - Toledo Bend

*Pre-tournament meeting April 12th at FBC Hemphill

Texas East's fourth stop was once again on the famous Toledo Bend.  We kicked off the event at FBC Hemphill with Skero Furniture not only being our signature sponsor but also provided the best Texas BBQ a man could eat!  We had brisket, sausage, potato salad baked beans and cake, mercy, it doesn't get any better than that!

Chris Kouba, Sr Pastor, United City Church, brought our message, "Is it worth it?" and challenged us to do as the the man in the story did and sell off everything we have to get what is hidden beneath our feet and worth so much more.  We had four men give their lives to Christ and five that rededicated themselves to a better walk.  God is so very good!

Saturday we were set up and ready to weigh fish at our host Hotel, Fin and Feather Resort.  The fishing was tough due to the record three foot rise in the lake in two days because of storms to the north of us.  The fish scattered and the weights reflected it.  In the end, Corbett Ross, fishing by himself because his partner and daughter, Haylie, had a school conflict, crossed the scales with a sack weighing 25.16 including his tournament winning big bass kicker weighing 8.29, took first place honors.  Second place wa the team of Toby Johnson and Sam Huckabee witha 24.4 stringer.  Rounding out the top three was Tater Reynolds and Josie Thibodeaux with a 19.79 sack.

We are looking forward to our final regular season tournament which will take place on Sam Rayburn on May 4th.  Brandon Belt is our signature sponsor and he plans to be there to wish everyone good luck.
