Our Lake Cumberland tournament is in the books. I feel like a broken record at this point... but man was it TOUGH. Cold front blew in Friday night with lows into the 30's, clear blue skies on tournament day with little wind made for tough fishing conditions.... and on top of that, we had an hour and fifteen minute fog delay tournament morning. We were down on numbers a bit for this tournament, but 12 teams fished their guts out Saturday with little payoff.... Congratuaitons to our winning team of Brinegar and Walker, the ONLY team to bring in a full 5 fish limit weighing 14.02. They caught all of their fish on shakyheads up the river near Burnside fishing in 10 feet of water or so. They mentioned they had a lot of bites in practice, but not as many on tournament day - but the quality was still their enough for them to bring in a full limit to the scales. Our second place finishing team of McFarland and Carter had 4 fish weighing 8.38 pounds. They had luck on the main lake near spawning pockets fishing jerkbaits and spinnerbaits. Our final team to cash a check was Jones and Jones with 6.74 pounds. They also tackled the main lake fishing transition banks in 5-10 feet of water with spinnerbaits. I think a lot of our anglers were rather dissapointed in the weights for Lake Cumberland this time of year - I know I am... but that's fishing.

However, our Friday night meeting at Harmony Fellowship Baptist Church was great! The youth Pastor, Jeremy Tucker, and the youth group hosted the FOM Kentucky West division and they did a great job. We had hamburgers, hotdogs, pasta salad, fries, deserts and all the fixins. Jeremy brought the devotional and he spoke about the importance of prayer - how we should be able to pray and speak to our Lord just like he's a friend. How important it is to have that relationship with God and feel comfortable enough to speak to him at anytime - good or bad situaitons. I think it was a wonderful message and much needed for all! FOM wants to thank Harmony Fellowship for having us and we hope to do it again next year!
