What a great day it was to be on beautiful Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley! We had 13 boats for our fourth tournament of the year and we seen some BIG FISH hit the scales today! The winning team of Rediess and Haley had 19.20 pounds of Kentucky Lake GIANT smallies! You have to visit our Facebook page and check these fish out! Rediess and Haley targeted water depths from 6-11 feet for these beautiful brown fish. Small swimbaits, drop shots and shakyheads were the hot baits for the winning team. They mentioned in their recap that they were near channel swing banks that had chunk rock close by! Our second place team had a blast froggin' for some HUGE largemouth. The team of Carter and McFarland weighed in over 17 pounds of largmouth - three of those fish being 4.5 pounders! They made the haul down to Paris, TN where they found themselves targeting pre-spawn largemouth in SHALLOW water with topwater frogs... and boy did they catch'em! Our third place finishing team of Wilcher and Stomberger tried their luck on Lake Barkley. They targeted offshore smallmouth in 6-10 feet of water with shakyheads and jigs; catching spawners and post-spawners. Our big fish of the tournament was a 5.32 stud largemouth caught by the Crutchfield boys. We had a great tournament today (happy the wind held off) and can't wait for the next one!
