District 7 Championsip Results
Fishers of Men District 7 Championship took place on beautiful Toledo Bend. The event started out with the pre-tournament banquet hosted by FBC Hemphill in Hemphill Texas, The local Go-Texan team cooked beef fajitas for the teams. Pastor Rusty West shared his heart in a message that focused on “What are you waiting for?” . The spirit moved and we saw two men enter into relationship with the Lord for the first time! Special thanks to Don Isles, SRA Manager and Judge Melton for bringing this event to Toledo Bend!
Friday morning found us at Fin and Feather Resort blasting off 69 teams to see what they could pull out of the lake to bring to the scales. The team of Dawson Schnautz and John Jay led the first day with a 18.59 sack and a 6.87 kicker that held up for big bass honors too. Second on the first day was the husband and wife team, Teddy and Jessica Thibodeaux with a 17.4 bag. Rounding out the top three was the team of Shane Gibson and Devin Bowden with a 16.74 stringer.
Saturday morning the teams hit the lake chasing the leaders. The weather was perfect and the air was filled with hope. Day two saw the team of Shane Gibson and Devin Bowden hit the scales with 23.89 to take and hold the lead. Second place was once again Teddy and Jessica Thibodeaux with a 19.75 bag. Third place honors went to Bruno Savoia and Willie Couch with a 16.58 sack. Big Bass honors on day two went to Warren and Wilson Couch with a 6.30 toad.
The District 7 honors went to the team of Shane Gibson and Devin Bowden with a two day total of 40.63. Second place went to Teddy and Jessica Thibodeaux , 37.15. Third place went to the team of Bruno Savoia and Willie Couch with a two day total of 32.65.
