A GREAT DAY IT WAS FOR THE 3RD STOP OF OUR 2018 TOURNAMENT SEASON
Fishers of Men, Alabama South had an amazing start to our 3rd tournament this year. Our Friday night meeting was held at Crestview Baptist Church in Prattville, AL. We had a very special guest speaker at this meeting. One of our very own fishermen, Mr. JR O’Gwynn, who became a ordained preacher July 19th 2017 and has 30 years in ministry. Brother JR spoke to us about time. We are all going to die. What are you going to do with the time we have? We should all make a plan for our life. It will affect you for eternity. You have got to know you are saved. Your life should be focused on serving GOD. We should all feel different after hearing GOD’s messages, whether it is at church, a meeting or while having fellowship with friends and family. Life has so much to offer but we must make time for GOD. Without GOD we are nothing. JAMES 4:13 REMEMBERING THAT KNOWING WHAT IS RIGHT TO DO AND THEN NOT DOING IT IS SIN. He challenged us to share the Bible and Jesus with our loved ones and friends. We were not called to sit still, Jesus said go and make disciples. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. Don’t be afraid to worship and pray in front of others, and love each other as Jesus loves us. The most powerful tool as a Christian is prayer. We had 42 people present at the meeting and 20 boats competing on Saturday. Thank You to Brother O’Gwynn for the words of encouragement and reminding us that we all need to make time for GOD. We had 3 rededications and 1 prayer request: for Dennis Spaeth for a Kidney Transplant in 12 days and for the donor that the procedure goes well. We blasted the 20 boats off Saturday morning as soon as it was safe light. Congratulations to the Team of Brian and Kim Moye who weighed in 17.50 pounds of fish to take 1st place and big bass that weighed 6.55 lbs. Second place team of Lavon and Zac White weighed in 12.78 lbs. Third place went to the team of Tony Boyette and Brian Metcalf with a weight of 12.72 lbs. The team of Harvey Starling, the Alabama Central division director, and Steve Drinnon weighed in 11.42 lbs to take fourth place. Rounding out the top 5 was the team of Peter Kelley and Ace Bush with 10.89 lbs. At the end of the day there were 84 bass brought to the scales that weighed 163.18 lbs and 82 released alive to be caught another day. I want to say thanks to all the participants of this tournament and hope to see everyone at our next event.
