Mr. Joe Turner was our guest speaker for our 4^th team series tournament this season.

Mr. Joe spoke to us from the book of Matthew Chapter 16 verses 13-19. In this scripture, Jesus is asking his disciples who people say he is? They had various answers. And then he asked them, who do you say I am? Simon Peter answered him saying you are the Christ, the son of God. Because of his answer, Jesus told him that he was blessed and upon this rock he would build his church. This is the foundation of our modern day church.

Jesus taught the disciples by example.  Jesus didn’t just tell  the disciples how to be like him, he showed them. Christians should be the same. We should live our life in a way that pleases and glorifies the Lord. For us to be good Christians, we must know Christ and who he is. We should not rely on others to tell us.

There are no accidents. We are all here for a purpose. We must choose to live and think like Christ. Think about who we are and who we represent. The Lord will lead and guide you. He will reveal your path to you. But it is up to us to have that relationship and act on his instruction.

You can’t be saved until you know you’re lost. We have to give up control to the Lord and quit thinking that we know more than he does. Life will still be hard but the Lord is there to help every step of the way. We weren’t built for Earth, we were built for Heaven. We are cursed because of our sin. But we have a way out.

Remember that it is your relationship with the Lord that gives you eternal salvation and a ticket to Heaven. Your deeds are important but your relationship is what gets you to your final destination.
