Our first event of the year brought us to Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia.  A beautiful place to fish and can be rewarding when the fish wanna cooperate. Most of the teams found fish, yet only a few found the right bites to land them on top.

With 25 teams present, Shane and Charlie Mills captured 1st place with 20.13 lbs.  Following in 2nd place were Ray Armes and Bo Grosvenor with18.43 lbs.  Mark Winn and Mike Nichols took 3rd place with 16.53 lbs.  Finishing 4th place was Aarron Riffle and Ryan Smith with 16.20 bls and 5th place finishers were Ronnie Bothwell and Joe Kimble with 15.47 lbs.   Aarron Riffle also anchored big fish weighing 6.03 lbs!   Speaking to some of the teams, a few caught them on a shad spawn pite along rip rap while others targeted a few spawning fish. Congrats and great job guys!
